You are what you repeat
Inside the cover of my Mush overnight oats container this morning I saw this: “You are what you repeat”.
Obviously a play on “you are what you eat” and I enjoy it.
I think we all often struggle with the space between aspiration and reality, and “you are what you repeat” is a gentle reminder of some important facts:
- things take time to develop
- “the past” or “your life” is an accumulation of present moments
- your actual actions matter; planning a garden makes you a planner, not a gardener
“You are what you repeat” also reminded me of this idea that your calendar is effectively a report documenting what you value in life.
So what do you value? How does your calendar reflect those stated values? And to what extent does it reflect a gap between your stated values and what you really value? Ed Batista
One effective step towards being a certain way is to make your calendar look like it belongs to someone who is that way.
